By using Sonera, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using the app or website.

Service Description

Sonera provides voice dictation and AI text editing for desktop (Windows) and mobile (Android, iOS). The desktop app includes local Whisper for free offline transcription. Cloud features require an account and a paid plan.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.

Accounts

To access cloud features you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account with others or use automated means to access the service.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

BYOK Responsibility

If you use the BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) plan, you are responsible for your own API keys and any costs incurred at the API provider (e.g., Groq, OpenAI). Sonera is not liable for unexpected charges from third-party providers.

You must not use API keys that you are not authorized to use. You must not use the service to generate illegal, harmful, or abusive content.

Premium Subscription

Premium subscriptions are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months except where required by law.

The BYOK unlock is a one-time purchase and is non-refundable after 14 days.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Sonera to:

• Generate or distribute illegal, harmful, hateful, or abusive content
• Violate the intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
• Use the service in a way that exceeds reasonable personal use

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Limitation of Liability

Sonera is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to data loss, transcription errors, or service interruptions.

Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email and/or in-app notification at least 14 days before significant changes take effect. Continued use of Sonera after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
